Artis & Beulah were probably married in Salem County, New Jersey. Family F769

As to his place of birth, only the DAR Patriot Index listing for John Seagraves, son of Francis' daughter Susannah, identifies Francis as his ancestor who came from England. It is not clear how accurate that information might be. If it was based on information directly from the named John Seagraves, it might be based on actual family knowledge, if it is not, it could be distorted in some way. Given Francis' date of birth, he could easily have been born in America since there were thousands of colonists in southern Virginia by the mid-1600s. As with his date of birth, his actual place of birth awaits better information. Segrave, Francis Sr. (I616)

As with James' birth date, Findagrave.com shows 1 Sep 1928 engraved on his gravestone as opposed to the 10 Apr 1928 listed in "Segraves/Seagraves and Related Families of Northeast Georgia". With no Georgia death record to pin it down, the gravestone seems the most reliable source. Seagraves, James Ernest (I5405)

Asa and Bernice were probably married in Illinois. Family F533

at 5:00 am Maxie died at age 92 at the Palace Care & Rehabilitation Facility in Red Boiling Springs. Macon County, Tennessee. Seagraves, Maxie Dell (I454)

Barnabas was probably born in Wake County, North Carolina since most NC Seagraves families lived in that county before 1810. Seagraves, Barnabas (I733)

Based on Alfred's ages shown on the 1850 and 1860 Wake County, North Carolina censuses.  Seagraves, Alfred (I856)

Based on her age (64) and birth place (NC) on the 1850 census. Brown, Elizabeth (I718)

Based on her age, 23, stated in her obituary in Apr 1919. Catts, Myrtle (I6562)

based on information contained in his US Army enlistment papers. Those papers and a later pension claim by his mother, indicate that Thomas was a son of Samuel and Mary Seagraves who had lived in Botetourt Co. and moved to Warren Co., Kentucky about 1805. Seagraves, Thomas (I651)

Based on information on the 1930 and 1940 censuses and "Ohio Deaths, 1908-2007" on Ancestry.com Sagraves, Arthona (I2376)

Based on the 1830 Wake County, North Carolina census which shows two female children in Isham's household under 5 years old. One would be Sarah, born in 1827.  Seagraves, unknown female (I852)

Based on the 1840 Wake County, North Carolina census which shows one female child in Isham's household under 5 years old.  Seagraves, unknown female (I855)

Based on the 1840 Wake County, North Carolina census which shows two male children in Isham's household under 5 years old. One would be Alfred, born about 1837.  Seagraves, unknown male (I854)

Based on the date of his will and the date it was proved, it is reasonable to assume that Francis died in late 1726 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. No marked burial site has yet been found for Francis in Isle of Wight County. Segrave, Francis Sr. (I616)

Based on the dates of birth of their children ( William B. was born about 1843) I have estimated the marriage date as 1842. Family F2360

based on the male child listed with Willie Segraves on the 1820 census for Montgomery County, Tennessee in the age range of 16 to 25 years old. If accurate, that means the child was born between 1795 and 1814 and suggests his parents were married in 1794 or earlier. Seagraves, infant boy (I790)

Ben was born 31 August 1889 in Hallon, Allen County, Kentucky and died 9 January 1972. He is buried with Clara in Hooker Cemetery, Hooker, Texas County, Oklahoma.  Jones, Clara M. (I931)

Benjamin died at the Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem of Cancer. Seagraves, Benjamin Franklin (I2595)

Benjamin was born in North Carolina based on the 1850 through 1870 census recordings of his birthplace. His age varies by census, in 1840 his age group is 20 to 29 suggesting he was born 1811to1820; in 1850 he is 39 suggesting he was born in 1811; in 1860 he is 49 suggesting he was born in 1811; in 1870 he is 60 suggesting he was born in 1810. Seagraves, Benjamin (I1229)

Bennett and Margaret were probably married in Maury County, Tennessee. Family F257

Bertha Garrett first married Tom Campbell in Smith Co., Tennessee on 25 Jun 1905. I do not know what happened to him. Meador, Edgar Washington (I1572)

Bertha probably died in Smith County, TN.  Garrett Campbell, Bertha Lee (I1628)

Bertha was probably born in Smith County, TN.  Garrett Campbell, Bertha Lee (I1628)

Bertha's maiden name was Holcomb. Claussen, Bertha May (I1437)

Bertie was the daughter of Porter Virgil Hite and Fay Venice Sweazy. Hite, Bertie Lou (I6397)

Bessie Amelia Nelson, age 21, dau of Nelson Nelson & Mary Halquist. Family F459

Bessie is buried as Bessie Lee Perry Seagroves. Perry, Bessie Lee (I6443)

Bessie Lee Perry was born to Anderson Perry and Nannie Hunter. Perry, Bessie Lee (I6443)

Bessie's death date is not reported on Findagrave.com, but can be read as 18 Oct 2002 on the photo of her gravestone. "North Carolina Death Indexes, 1908-2004" on Ancestry.com also reports her death date as 18 Oct 2002.  Baird, Bessie Mae (I5812)

Betty died of cancer at age 66 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky  Tuck, Betty Jean (I502)

Betty was the daughter of John Henry Rust and Maude S. Christian. Rust, Betty Delores (I4383)

Bill died Friday, 16 September 1977 in Westgate Hospital in Denton, Denton Co., Texas Bently, Willie L. (I1081)

Bill was born 14 April 1879 and died 28 September 1943 at age 64 in Macon County, Tennessee. Hire, Nola (I893)

Billy was buried as Billy H. Seagroves. Seagraves, Billy Herndon (I5147)

Birdie lived most of his life in Jackson County, Georgia but was on the 1900 census in Madison County, so his marriage to Mary Ann in 1902 may have been in either of these places. Family F636

Birth date notes:
A specific date is often from a gravestone shown on Findagrave.com. Typically, those dates are accurate, but not always.
A year shown as "abt" is often based on a census record showing the age of the person with no other confirming source. Generally those years are within one or two of the actual date, but not always.
A year shown as "est" is given when no source has been found to estimate the precise date of birth, so I have tried to find any other date from which a birth year can be estimated. In many cases, a child is estimated to be born 20 years after the birth of the youngest known parent, or for females, 3 years after the birth of their spouse and for males 3 years after the birth of their spouse, or if a child is known, then 20 years before the birth of that child.
