- Birth date notes:
A specific date is often from a gravestone shown on Findagrave.com. Typically, those dates are accurate, but not always.
A year shown as "abt" is often based on a census record showing the age of the person with no other confirming source. Generally those years are within one or two of the actual date, but not always.
A year shown as "est" is given when no source has been found to estimate the precise date of birth, so I have tried to find any other date from which a birth year can be estimated. In many cases, a child is estimated to be born 20 years after the birth of the youngest known parent, or for females, 3 years after the birth of their spouse and for males 3 years after the birth of their spouse, or if a child is known, then 20 years before the birth of that child.
