"Hilda Jolin Seagrave, 81, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1982, in Port Huron Hospital after a long illness. She was born July 21, 1901 in Anchorville, and lived in Port Huron since 1922. She married Norman Ounsworth Seagrave Feb. 18, 1922, in Port Huron. He died Oct. 24, 1957.
Mrs. Seagrave graduated from St. Clair High School. She registered nurse's degree from the Port Hudson Hospital Training School April 28, 1922. She also received a certificate from Children's Hospital, Detroit, in 1922. She was active in the American Red Cross during World War II.
She served on the board of the Family Service Agency. She was a life member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and belonged to the Port Huron Hospital Auxiliary. She was a partnership member of the YMCA and a member of the Vivians of the Elks Club and Grace Episcopal Church, where she belonged to the Goulden Guild. She was past president and honorary member of the Port Huron Garden Club. She belonged to the Museum of Arts and History and Port Huron Golf Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Sarah Jane Sturdevant, Port Huron; one son, David Allen Seagrave, Elizabeth Town, KY; one brother, Norman Jolin, Marysville; three granddaughters, Sarah Jane Rutkofske, Port Huron, Peggy Walker, Lexington, KY, and Susan Seagrave, Elizabeth Town, KY; three grandsons, Norman Louis Sturdevant, Aurora, Colo., and Scott and John Seagrave, both of Elizabeth Town, KY; Three great-grandchildren; Three nieces; and six nephews."
