    • The only source that describes this marriage or lists it at all is the Personal History of Jack Hartford Seagraves who describes himself as a son of Fred John and Lila Frances. Neither the Findagrave.com memorial for John Fred Seagraves or for Lila Frances Hanks Seagraves mentions their marriage, but a child, Bettie Clara Seagraves Collins, born 8 Aug 1927, is listed on both memorials. Bettie's birth and the other 3 children identified by Jack Hartford Seagraves are also listed in the "North Carolina Birth Indexes, 1800-2000" on Ancestry.com, all showing Fred or John F. Seagraves as the father and Lila F. Hanks as the mother.
      Jack says that the marriage took place on 19 Sep 1925 in Bristol, Sullivan County, Tennessee. Since Lila was said have been born in Carroll County, VA which is just north across the North Carolina state line from Surry County, NC, it seems unlikely that Fred and Lila would travel 120 mile west to Bristol, TN to get married. However, that is what Jack reported so we will show it that way. [2, 3, 4]
